Dr. John Ahlering is a distinguished physician and anesthesiologist who has practiced medicine in San Diego for more than thirty years. A graduate of Stanford University and the University of California San Diego’s medical school, he obtained his Post-Doctoral training in Cardiovascular Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at Stanford in 1980. He has traveled around the world teaching about surgery and performing anesthesiology, from India to Ecuador, in addition to his leadership at Stanford University as Associate Professor in the Medical School (VCF).
Dr. Ahlering is active in the San Diego community, serving community organizations such as Rotary, the San Diego Zoo, Rady Children’s Hospital and the St. Vincent de Paul Village. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his wife, Susan “Dulie” Ahlering, and his five children.
