Captain Louis Zimm is an experienced oceanographic ship operator and retired commercial passenger fishing vessel captain. He has also participated in commercial fisheries along the California coast.

Mr. Zimm received his Baccalaureate Degree in Economics from San Diego State University in 1976, and his Limited Master’s License from the U.S. Coast Guard in 1977. Mr. Zimm presently holds a Master of Steam or Motor Vessels of not more than 300 gross tons upon Oceans, as well as a STCW Certificate, GMDSS Radio Operator License, Marine Radio Operator Permit, and Marine SQE Internal Auditor.

Mr. Zimm has captained several vessels with Ocean Fresh Seafoods, Woo Chee Chong Oriental Market and Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and continues as a Relief Mate on Commercial Sportfishers. He is a board member of San Diego Fly Fishers, and is President of SDYC Anglers.
